Comments: We got moved to The Museum Guesthouse 2 at the last minute so this review should be for that property.

Comments: The heating did not work very well. We were thankful for the additional blankets at night.

Comments: Great place, but hard to find. The directions said it was on the 1st floor, but I went up 2 flights of stairs to get there, and the sign was small and easy to miss. Really great place, though.

Comments: We were moved to the \'other building\' and found it really spacious with good small kitchen, but alas, we had to mop the whole floor (bedroom and corridor etc) and scrub the lav bowls. Later, we found the receptionist from the main building was cleaning our building. She is overworked, and there should be a cleaning person dedicated to that job, after all it is two buildings you are operating! The receptionist was excellent and cannot be faulted.

Comments: Difficult to get into you need a code to get into the gate which you can't get until you check in which you can't do until you get through the gate. Good location staff were a little disorganised and it lacked any sort of common area just a couch in a hallway and the kitchen which had a table and two chairs free wireless was a plus.

Comments: A building of great character. We enjoyed our stay, however the guy running it could have been more forthcoming with useful information and the cleanliness left little to be desired and it had not been modernised in a long time. Overall the central location and convenience and cost were all positives.

Comments: website stated there would be towels, 24 hour reception, and hot water. rooms were overcrowded, dirty bathrooms, didnt once see anyone cleaning in 3 days. good things: wireless internet, comfy beds, good location, secure. it is a very small place so I could hear everything that was going all at all hours of the night. also only 2 showers for at least 20 people.

Comments: Concerning the security lockers. At your check-in you will be asked to give a 10€ deposit in exchange for the key for one of them. You can as well count these 10€ are being part of the price your sojourn will cost you since if at your check-out no staff member is there you will have no way to get them back.

Comments: Someone isn't always around. Had to check out at 5 am for my train and I find a note on the door to call a number to check-out. I don't know how many people carry a working phone in Budapest. Clean, not a bad location, but the staff needs to be better organized, they really don't have a clue. If you are looking for a cheap hostel that is clean, this is probably it, just beware of staff.

Comments: It was a shame to see how much the place has declined in three years. From lovely, cosy and full of character to a dirty, smelly, poorly-staffed, run down, I'd-rather-sit-outisde-in-the-square kind of place

| Comments: we stayed at the location on the danube--one of three options the hostel offers. the other two are delhi and calcutta; the danube location is valhalla or the elysian fields. amazing value for money, if you can get it. there are only three apartments at the prime spot, but if needs be you should move heaven and earth to get one of them. many thanks to gavor at hostel one and to klara and bivor at hostel two.
