Nationality Stayed Gender Age Group Overall Rating - 6th January 2009 Male 18-24 3/5 Comments: the worst part was the bed in our private double room, which was a fold out couch base without an actual mattress on top. there were also just two normal sheets on top, not the kind that wrap around the mattress so as soon as you laid down on it your face was on the disgusting mattress that 1000 other guests had their faces on too. the blankets were too small, the shower was dirty and the bathroom mildewy, gross mop water was left in the mop bucket which made the whole place stink.... if you like roughing it, this place is for you. oh, and at 8 o'clock every morning the neighbor started playing the violin.... and kept playing it all day. forget about sleeping in.

Breakfast included for such a cheap price makes it even better than any other option, having that it is placed in the city center. Besides, there are up to two locked doors before entering the hostel (which makes 'Caterina Hostel' a secure place to live in. Without the keys it is impossible to access. In addition, the staff was always helpful and willing to provide us with the best information possible.

And we were sooo nicely surprised that instead of having a room in a hostel with the people around, we have our own appartment!!! I saw in comments that some people compalined for a having apartment. Maybe for some young people looking for fun this is a bad idea, but for couples (like us) this is great!!! So I realy recommend you this place!

Landlady and landlord are very friendly and help you with hints where to go sightseeing and how to use the lokal transportation. The location is nice, although its in the centere and next to a main street you have no noise in your room, for it is directed to the back of the Oshaped building. One thing, if you should go during winter it would be advisable to take another blanket. In total, regarding what you pay, it is very nice.

The beds were not very comfortable and not entirely clean but the staff was great. So welcoming and helpful. Price was perfect with breakfast too!

Staff were helpful and ran a tight ship. Kitchen facilities cramped but clean. We managed to cook basic stuff each evening.Breakast basic:tea/coffee + toast, but its a very good value place so you get what you pay for. We were happy.

Comes equipped with quiet hours, a hushed feel like your staying at your mates parents house, whom you dont know, no lockers, some of my stuff went missing, and dont worry drinking is forbidden. There are way better relaxed hostels in Budapest!
